REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY FOR OBAMACARE 2022

  1. Having a legal immigration status in the United States, in case of not having one you can also opt for one depending on your case.
  2. Have the pre-established income in the ObamaCare table

     

  3. Qualifying for Obamacare is doing so during the required time periods known as the Obamacare Open Enrollment Period.

     

  4. In case of being a marriage, you must make the tax return together

     

  5. You cannot be dependent on the application of another insured.

     

  6. Not having health insurance at work.

MINIMUM INCOME TO OPT FOR HEALTH INSURANCE

You must also have minimum income per year. Applicants and families can be accepted for Obamacare if the annual housing income is between 100% and 400% of federal poverty standards. These indicators are updated every year by the Federal Government according to the magnitude of the family.

The dimension of the family refers to all the people who are included in your tax return. It’s usually you, your spouse, and your children under the age of 26.

For the year 2022 these are the figures:

  • 12,880 (100%) up to $51,520 (400%) for an individual alone
  • 17,420 (100%) up to $69,680 (400%) for a family of two
  • 26,500 (100%) up to $106,600 (400%) for a family of four

YOU MUST HAVE CITIZENSHIP STATUS TO OPT FOR OBAMACARE

The Obama Act mandated that one of the requirements to qualify for Obamacare is that applicants have legal status in the country. Citizens, permanent residents, or people with a social security number qualify.

To put it another way, if you don’t have Social Security, you can’t qualify for health insurance. However, there are health coverage alternatives for undocumented immigrants.

APPLY FOR OBAMACARE INSURANCE IN THE RANGE GRANTED TO QUALIFY

Enrolling during the open enrollment period, Nov. 1 through Dec. 15, is another requirement to be eligible for Obamacare. Otherwise, you will not be able to benefit from government health insurance or receive benefits. Unless you qualify for a special period. If so, do so within the booking limit of 60 days or 60 days after the special event.

You usually need to purchase health insurance during the 5-day enrollment period. Both private insurance and health insurance through the health insurance market.

 

I AM MARRIED AND I HAVE NOT DONE THE TAX RETURN WITH MY PARTNER, CAN I APPLY FOR OBAMACARE?

To be eligible for Obamacare, one of the conditions is that the couple must file their taxes together.

AM I ELIGIBLE FOR OBAMACARE IF I PURCHASE HEALTH COVERAGE THROUGH MY JOB?

If your employer sponsors your health insurance, you are not eligible. Health insurance provided by your employer is considered minimum insurance. In other words, you must enroll in employee sponsored insurance and are not eligible for Obamacare.
